Cystaid

Chronic cystitis and haematuria lead to the breakdown of the bladder's mucosal barrier, resulting in increased permeability, mucosal inflammation and dysuria.

An aid for the management of feline lower urinary tract disorders (FLUTD) in cats and chronic cystitis and associated conditions in dogs.

Dietary management of FIC through supplementation

CYSTAID contains molecules that supplement the bladder muco-polysaccharid GAG chains. These chains form a protective mucin layer for the umbrella mucosal cells, preventing epithelial contact with the irritant urinary toxins and pathogens.

Supplementation with CYSTAID helps:

1) Replace and maintain a healthy GAG bladder mucosal mucin layer

2) Stimulates increased GAG production by mucosal cells

3) Decreases bladder wall permeability thus reducing bladder wall inflammation.

Dietary change:

In addition to using CYSTAID, benefits may be seen with increasing the water consumption by changing to moist diet, improving the number and site of litter trays and reducing the stress levels.
