Amoxycillin is a semi-synthetic penicillin with a broad spectrum bactericidal action against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. The suspension produces sustained blood levels 30-60 minutes after injection. Furthermore amoxycillin has many advantages compared to other penicillins, being non-toxic, stable in acidic conditions, is well resorbed and diffuses readily into most body tissues and fluids.
