Mecloma 5mg/ml inj.
Mecloma has a dual mode of action. It possesses parasymphatomimetic activity and thereby increases the motality of the upper gastro-intestinal tract without affecting gastric acid secretion. It increases gastric peristalsis leading to accelerated gastric emptying. Mecloma is also a dopamine receptor antagonist with a direct depressant effect on the chemoreceptor trigger zone. It is used to reduce vomiting in gastritis and following surgery, and in the treatment of ruminal atony or oesophageal reflux. It is of little benefit in prevention of motion sickness in dogs and cats. Mecloma may cause restlessness and excitement in some dogs.
